  • The technologically advanced PureZone air purifier model CAP1 by eXtreme is a compact device that, thanks to the use of a HEPA filter, effectively cleans the air in your car. The HEPA filter located in the PureZone air purifier can remove microscopic particles of PM10 and PM2.5 suspended pollutants with an efficiency of 99.5%. The additional activated carbon insert absorbs odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as toluene, xylene, and formaldehyde, a highly toxic gas that is a component of cigarette smoke. The ionizer produces negative ions, which can neutralize positive ions that attract allergens, bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms. The device operates at a constant fan speed at all times.

Due to smog, about 50 thousand people die each year in Poland (12% of all deaths) - the size of a city like Bełchatów.

What is smog and where does it come from?

Smog is a term derived from English, formed from the words smoke and fog. It means the occurrence of very high air pollution in a given area. It arises from the combination of pollutants resulting from human activity (mainly smoke and exhaust fumes) with unfavorable weather conditions: fog and lack of wind. Smog most often occurs in valleys and densely built-up areas where air circulation is limited.

    Is smog dangerous to health?
Smog is particularly dangerous for children, the elderly, and people suffering from respiratory and circulatory diseases. The most dangerous are PM2.5 particles. These are suspended particles in the air with a maximum diameter of 2.5 μm. They are very small and easily penetrate the lungs and bloodstream. Scientists estimate that polluted air and smog are responsible for about 3% of deaths caused by circulatory diseases, 5% of fatal cases of trachea, bronchial, and lung cancers, and about 1% of deaths caused by acute respiratory infections in children under 5 years of age. Therefore, there has been a significant increase in interest in air purifiers recently. Although more and more people have such devices in their homes, most of them are forced to travel by car to work, the store, or with children to kindergarten and school, and consequently inhale polluted air. Car air purifiers from the eXtremestyle brand may be the solution.

How does the purifier work and what functions should it have?
The general principle of operation of most purifiers is very simple: it involves forcing air circulation using a fan system or convection (this solution is too inefficient for filtering smog). Inside the purifier, the air is subjected to filtration and, for example, humidification or ionization (depending on the number of additional functions in the device). When choosing an air purifier, it is essential to pay attention to the efficiency of the fans and the quality of the installed filters. The most important parameter to consider for filters installed in purifiers is their ability to handle PM 2.5 suspended particles, which are particles with a diameter not exceeding 2.5 µm (micrometers). Most good air purifiers have a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter, which is a highly efficient air particle filter. This type of filter is much more accurate and effective than the traditional mesh or sponge filters known for a long time.

How does the air ionizer work and why is it so important?
You can easily feel the difference in air in the mountains and forests compared to the air in cities. The difference arises from the high content of particles called negative oxygen ions in forests and mountains. Such particles are formed, for example, during waves crashing against rocks, lightning strikes, etc., due to the action of high energy on the particle. The air is ionized using an air ionizer. The air passing through the ionizer chamber is negatively charged. The same charge is given to all pollutants (pollen, allergens, etc.) present in the air. Then, solid particles with a negative charge settle on positively charged electrodes, and the negatively charged air returns back outside the ionizer. In this simple way, the air is not only cleaned but also receives a dose of negative ions, which are so lacking in cities. The air indoors becomes fresh and clean like after rain.
