Professional processor charger with three-stage TC/CC/CV charging process. Xtar VP4 charges standard Li-ion 3.6 / 3.7V cells in sizes 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 18700, 20700, 21700, 22650, 25500, 26650, 32650. The largest batteries, i.e., 22650, 26650 and 32650 can only be charged in two extreme channels.
The charging current is determined jointly for all channels by a button located above the display. When charging 1-2 batteries placed in extreme channels, the maximum charging current is 1A. On the other hand, when charging 3-4 batteries or placing at least one battery in one of the two middle channels, the maximum charging current is 0.5A.
The Xtar VP4 is equipped with an LCD display indicating charging current, charging progress and current battery voltage.
What is the TC/CC/CV charging method? It is a three-stage li-ion cell charging process that ensures that the cell is maintained in good condition by charging with the right current at each stage and completing the charging process at the right time.
The different stages of the TC/CC/CV process are:
•TC phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are 'awakened' by a lower current.
•CC phase: when 2.9V is reached, the cell is charged with constant current and voltage of the value chosen by the user (0.25A by default).
•CV phase: When the cell is almost charged, the charger switches to charging with a decreasing current until the corresponding voltage is reached on the cell. When it is reached, the charging process is complete - the battery is fully charged.
The charged batteries left in the charger will undergo a natural self-discharge process. Charging will resume when the battery voltage drops below 3.9V.
The Xtar VP4C charger has the function of reactivating deep discharge cells and 0V cells. Many chargers on the market are unable to charge such batteries. Here comes the Xtar VP4C chargercomes to the rescue, which in many cases allows you to 'rescue' such cells. Simply insert a deeply discharged battery into the VP4C charger, as with a normal charge - the charger will detect the discharged cell and attempt to reactivate it.
Attention! Cells discharged below a certain level are irreparably damaged and may not be able to be reactivated. Avoid draining li-ion batteries too deeply - this can significantly reduce their durability and capacity or lead to their complete malfunction.
Chargers from other manufacturers can significantly increase the temperature of charged cells during charging. Overheating of the cells can cause them to wear out more quickly. When designing the VP4 charger, Xtar went a step further than the competition, solving this problem in a simple way: power from an external power supply was used. This will increase the temperature of the VP4 rechargeable battery by up to 15 degrees.
Complete with Xtar VP4C charger we get a dedicated USB cable.
