Xtar D36 is a high-quality diving flashlight with original Cree XHP35 and XHP70.2 LEDs offering light output of 5800 lumens and a range of 215 meters. The precisely finished, perfectly fitted housing of the flashlight D36 is made of high-quality alloy aerospace aluminum 6N03 type III resistant to drops from a height of 1.5m. Additionally, the entire unit is coated with an anti-corrosion agent. The design is sealed with o-rings providing a protection rating of IPX8 (waterproof up to 100m). High-quality contacts and three gold-plated springs ensure very good battery contact and high shock resistance.

Unlike most competing flashlights, Xtar used 2 separate LEDs in its design to easily switch between diffuse and focused light. The diffuse beam of light (120°) is provided by the CREE XHP70.2 P2 LED generating a flux of 4200lm. Meanwhile, the focused beam of light (53°) is generated by the CREE XHP35-HI/D4 LED producing a flux of 1600lm.

D36 allows the use of both LEDs simultaneously, generating a powerful light output of 5800 lumens

Additionally, the flashlight is equipped with thermal protection, preventing it from overheating. If the safe temperature is exceeded, the flashlight's driver will automatically reduce the light output.

The Xtar D36 flashlight is equipped with a OLED display that shows the current lighting mode and remaining runtime for that mode. In case of very low battery charge, the flashlight will switch to ECO mode - the light output will be reduced to 2% of the currently used lighting mode.

Another advantage of the flashlight is the button lock. This prevents accidental activation of the flashlight during transport.

D36 offers nine operating modes:
