Hidden in a compact case is a fully professional processor-controlled charger with a three-stage charging process TC/CC/CV. Xtar WP2H charges standard Li-ion cells 3.6 / 3.7V and high voltage Li-ion 3.8V as well as lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. From the mentioned types, it supports batteries of any capacity in sizes 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 18700, 22650, 25500, 26650. The type of cell is selected using a switch located on the back of the case, and the charging current is set with a button on the case. The voltage for both charging channels is set together - you cannot charge cells with different nominal voltages simultaneously. The charging current is also common for both channels.
What is the TC/CC/CV charging method? It is a three-stage charging process for Li-ion cells that ensures the cell is kept in good condition by charging with the appropriate current at each stage and ending the charging process at the right moment.
The individual stages of the TC/CC/CV process are:
•TC Phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are 'woken up' with a lower current.
•CC Phase: after reaching 2.9V, the cell is charged with a constant current and voltage value selected by the user (default 0.5A).
•CV Phase: when the cell is almost fully charged, the charger switches to charging with a decreasing current until the appropriate voltage on the cell is reached. Once reached, the charging process is complete - the battery is fully charged.
Charged batteries left in the charger will undergo a natural self-discharge process. Charging will resume when the voltage on the battery drops below 3.9V for Li-ion and 3.3V for LiFePO4.
The Xtar WP2H charger has a reactivation function for deeply discharged cells and cells with a voltage of 0V. Many chargers on the market are unable to charge such batteries. Here, the Xtar WP2H charger comes to the rescue, which in many cases allows for the 'rescue' of such cells. Just insert the deeply discharged battery into the WP2H charger, just like with normal charging - the charger will detect the discharged cell and attempt to reactivate it. Warning! Cells discharged below a certain level may suffer irreversible damage, and their reactivation may be impossible. Avoid excessively deep discharging of Li-ion batteries - this can lead to a significant reduction in their lifespan and capacity or render them completely inoperable.
Chargers from other manufacturers can significantly raise the temperature of the charged cells during charging. Excessive heating of the cells can cause them to wear out faster. In designing the WP2H charger, Xtar has gone a step further than the competition by solving this problem simply: external power supply was used. As a result, the temperature of the battery charged in the WP2H will rise by at most 15 degrees.
Xtar WP2H has an additional power bank function with a 5V 1A USB output. Any Li-ion or LiFePO4 battery with a minimum capacity of 2200mAh can be used as a power source. To use the power bank function, disconnect the charger from the mains or car power supply, place the battery in the first channel of the charger, and hold the charging current selection button for 1.5s. The discharge status of the battery is indicated by a diode on the charger case.
Included with the Xtar WP2H charger is a power supply with an EU plug and a 12V car cigarette lighter cable.
