The series of sinusoidal voltage inverters is used to power electrical devices requiring 230V AC from batteries and automotive installations with a 12V DC voltage. The distinguishing feature of sinus inverters from classic simple AC/DC inverters is the generation of an AC voltage with a sinusoidal waveform, identical to that in the power grid. Simple, cheap inverters actually generate a rectangular waveform voltage, sometimes mistakenly called "modified sine wave." Such voltage is unsuitable for powering inductive or capacitive devices and can cause damage to them.
