Uni-T UT682 is a multifunctional cable locator (Wire Tracker/Tone & Probe) consisting of a transmitter and receiver, designed for non-invasive locating of network, telephone, and power cables. This allows the user to trace cables without the need to expose insulation, significantly speeding up and facilitating installation and service work
The transmitter is equipped with RJ45 and RJ11 connectors, allowing for testing the correctness of terminations – detecting shorts, breaks, or errors in the wire sequence. The SCAN version allows for testing the continuity of cabling, detecting open connections, shorts, as well as incorrect placement of wires in cables. The receiver with an antenna and headphone jack allows monitoring of the signal in crowded or noisy environments, and the volume control improves user comfort
UT682 supports test mode (TEST) for locating telephone and network lines and SCAN mode for checking continuity (line check), with a selection of testing speeds (FAST/SLOW). Additionally, the transmitter informs about low battery levels, which improves operation
