TC/CC/CV Charging Process

The charger uses a microprocessor-controlled, three-stage TC/CC/CV charging algorithm that ensures maximum safety and extends the lifespan of batteries.

The charging process occurs in three stages:

TC Phase – initial control and reactivation of cells with a voltage below 2.9 V.

CC Phase – charging with a constant current appropriately selected by the device's electronics.

CV Phase – after reaching a high level of charge, the charger switches to charging with a decreasing current until the final voltage of 4.2 V (Li-Ion) or 1.45 V (Ni-MH) is reached. The process is then automatically completed.

0V Cell Reactivation Function

The XTAR SC1 PLUS is equipped with a function to reactivate deeply discharged Li-Ion cells. After placing the battery in the charger, the device checks its condition and – if possible – starts the process of restoring the cell to operation. This function allows many batteries that standard chargers cannot handle to be saved.

Warning! Batteries discharged below the critical level may suffer permanent damage, and their reactivation may be impossible. Over-discharging significantly shortens the lifespan of Li-Ion cells.

Power Bank Function

• After placing a charged battery, the SC1 PLUS can serve as an efficient power bank. The USB port allows charging of mobile phones, tablets, flashlights, GPS receivers, and other USB-powered devices.
• The silicone strap stabilizes the battery, allowing the device to be safely transported even while functioning as a power bank.
• Safe charging

The charger is equipped with a range of protections that safeguard both the battery and connected devices:

• short circuit protection,
• thermal protection,
• reverse polarity protection,
• overcharge protection,
• automatic termination of the charging process upon reaching full charge.

Thanks to the use of external power supply, most of the heat generated occurs outside the charger, which limits the temperature rise of the charged battery to about 15°C and positively affects its durability.
