BC8 has 8 independent channels and can charge each channel with a current of 500mA. The cutout under the channels positively affects the temperature of the charged batteries and significantly facilitates the removal of batteries! Using BC8 is pure pleasure.

Does BC8 charge Li-ion batteries using the TC/CC/CV charging method? It is a three-stage charging process for Li-ion cells that ensures the cell is maintained in good condition by charging with the appropriate current at each stage and completing the charging process at the right moment.
The individual stages of the TC/CC/CV process are:

• TC Phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are 'woken up' with a lower current.
• CC Phase: after reaching 2.9V, the cell is charged with a constant current of 0.5A (depending on the power source used and the number of batteries being charged).
• CV Phase: when the cell is almost charged, the charger switches to charging with a decreasing current until a voltage of 4.2V is reached on the cell. After reaching 4.2V, the charging process is complete - the battery is fully charged.

These include:

• higher nominal voltage - 1.5V (Ni-MH only has 1.2V)
  
  Some devices, such as blood pressure monitors, unfortunately work much shorter on Ni-MH batteries due to the lower voltage. On alkaline batteries, however, they work much longer.
  
  
• constant voltage throughout the entire time
  
  The voltage on this battery will be 1.5V from the very beginning to the end. Thanks to this, for example, in flashlights, we will be able to enjoy full brightness all the time.
• large number of cycles - over 1000!
  
  Xtar used a high-quality cell along with a protective circuit, which allowed for a large number of charge / discharge cycles with minimal battery degradation effect.
  
  

• no memory effect
  
  Li-ion batteries are completely free of memory effect. This allows them to be charged at any time.
  
  
• no self-discharge effect
  
  Unlike some Ni-MH batteries, the Xtar battery can be left unused for a long time - without losing capacity / energy charge.
