UT123T is a simple universal meter in the form of a multimeter designed for performing basic electrical measurements at home, in the car, or in a hobbyist's workshop. Its compact small external dimensions make it ideal for mobile applications or as a pocket backup multimeter for an electronics technician or electrician. What capabilities does the offered UT123T meter have? In the AC voltmeter range, we can measure the voltage value in a household electrical outlet, check if the voltage is flowing through the wire to the device. With the DC voltmeter, we will measure the battery voltage to verify their charge level. We will check the voltage in the battery and the charging voltage with the engine running. With the ohmmeter, we can identify the values of resistors, cables, and wires. Using a digital thermometer and a thermocouple probe, we can test the car's air conditioning to see if it cools to a specified temperature. With the acoustic continuity tester, known as the “buzzer,” we can check the correctness of the electrical connection: the connection of the two measurement terminals of the meter, red and black, is acoustically signaled by the built-in buzzer. Thanks to this practical option, we can check continuity in wires and cables, identify where a given wire exits when we have a whole bundle, check continuity in fuses, etc. The NCV function allows for non-contact detection of, for example, wires in the wall where there is a 230V AC mains voltage. This is a useful function when drilling holes in a wall where we do not know if there are electrical wires at the drilling point.
The UT123T meter is produced by the renowned company Unit. It is equipped with an inverted display with a black background and blue characters. It has an internal function for monitoring the status of AA batteries. When the batteries are discharged, an appropriate icon will be displayed on the screen. Performing measurements with a meter that has discharged batteries is subject to a very large error. Thanks to this function, we can avoid incorrect readings. Additionally, the meter has a battery-saving Auto Power Off function. If no operations are performed on the meter for 15 minutes, it will automatically turn off.
