Xtar is a renowned manufacturer of high-quality chargers for Li-ion batteries, flashlights and Li-ion batteries. Xtar products are sold in more than 120 countries. in the USA, Germany, Japan and Russia. Xtar uses the highest quality materials for the production of chargers - from the material of the housing to the efficient electronics. All Xtar chargers are CE certified as required for European markets.

The Xtar L4 charger has an advanced processor that is able to distinguish the type of battery installed in it. Thanks to this, we can charge any Li-ion 1.5V or Ni-Mh battery in each socket of the charger. A sophisticated charging algorithm will ensure that the battery is always fully charged and in an optimal, safe way for a given cell chemistry.

What is the TC/CC/CV charging method? It is a three-stage charging process for Li-ion cells, ensuring that the cell is kept in good condition by charging with the appropriate current at each stage and completing the charging process at the right time.
The different stages of the TC/CC/CV process are:

  • TC phase: the cells are 'woken up' by a lower current.
  • CC phase: the cell is charged with a constant current of 0.5A.
  • CV phase: when the cell is almost charged, the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until it reaches a voltage of 1.5V across the cell.

The Xtar L4 charger has the function of reactivating deeply discharged cells and cells with a voltage of 0V. Many chargers on the market are not able to charge such batteries. This is where the Xtar L4 charger comes in handy, which in many cases allows you to 'rescue' such cells. Simply insert a deeply discharged battery into the L4 charger as you would with normal charging - the charger will detect the discharged cell and attempt to reactivate it.

Remark! Cells discharged below a certain level are irreparably damaged and may not be able to be reactivated. Avoid discharging Li-ion and Ni-MH batteries too deeply – this can lead to a significant reduction in their durability and capacity, or lead to their complete inefficiency.

Like every Xtara charger, the L4 is protected in every possible way. The most important security features it has are:

  • short-circuit
  • Thermal
  • against over-charging
  • overcurrent
  • against reverse polarity
  • Primary Cell Detection
